James Ransom is an award-winning, New York-based food and interiors photographer. He specializes in color and is known for creating dramatic, arresting imagery that draws you into the moment. James cut his teeth shooting for Food52 and was central in developing the look and feel of their brand, which has drawn attention from all over the world. Since then he has gone on to shoot both stills and motion for leading editorial and commercial brands like Godiva, Kate Spade, Martha Stewart Living, Target and Restoration Hardware, to name a few. He is one of the nicest people you'll ever work with and has a work ethic second to none. His favorite color is black, he hates beets, loves fútbol, speaks Spanish fluently, and he's a cancer survivor.
